Darrell Johnson

Mr. Johnson is currently the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA).
Mr. Johnson has nearly 19 years of experience in the planning, development, implementation and operation of major transportation projects in California. While he was a part of the OCTA executive management team, Mr. Johnson’s responsibilities at OCTA included planning, development, and implementation of a nearly $3 billion local sales tax funded transit improvement program, which includes a doubling of Metrolink commuter rail service in Orange County, high-speed rail corridor development, overseeing the development of fixed-guideways, station development, and facilities engineering.
Prior to joining OCTA, Mr. Johnson held increasingly responsible positions in operations, finance, planning, focusing on passenger rail corridor development in California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia.
